Photoshoot: This particular costume is well overdue- it is for a friend who has wanted to cosplay as Lily and has been dreaming of this particular shoot for some time. I was particularly excited to please her, rather than doing it for my own sake. My lovely wife greatly desired the pairing of SiriusxJames, and it was quite amusing watching Lily, Snape ~KopiNinja and James relate to each other in pairings. My wife, and two long time friends, getting into position is always vastly amusing in nature. We have graduated towards being five at this point I believe -chuckles.- We took a shoot outside of Fanime, this is near the same spot where we did the Avatar the Last Airbender shoot. So a lucky area to do shoots! As always ~blackfruitbat was a trooper, bless her soul, cosplaying for *EclecticManiac while also taking out own particular shoot. Unfortunately Lily had to leave early, which was one of my greatest regrets, as well as Eclectic being unable to do the shoot with us as Young Bellatrix, another one of my largest regrets, as I believe she would have been a great dynamic added into the shoot, and she is always such a bubbly individual she brings quite a lot of energy into shoots. Another long time friend *TheSinisterLove joined us as Young Lucius which was also hilarious. He was quite a pleasure as well.
In the end we did get two pairing shots, it wasn't everything we had wanted, as we were in a crunch time and myself and my wife are generally shy around our friends to do pairing pictures for ourselves (god knows why.) However I do enjoy the ones I did get, even if I didn't do this for myself, I was glad to help bring the story to life in some way.
Costume: The wig was actually free, given to me by the lovely *RedYume Originally it was a french braided duel ponytail wig. When I undid the braids, it became shaggy and a bit of a controlled chaos. I decided it would be just fine for Sirius. The day before the first day of heading out on the road trip to Fanime, I realized that I had not made the robe for the costume. In a panic, myself and *Antiquity-Dreams each took hold of the project, and while I constructed the lining, she sewed together the outer layer. She gave me the two pieces, and I pieced them together, and viola, a robe within three hours! <3 Lucky I remembered -taps forehead.- My only regret was that I looked up what his wand would appear like AFTER making the wand for him. Despite the fact that the wand I made was quite impressive in appearance, it did not look anything at all correct to young Sirius's wand. I decided in the future if I were to ever re-debut this particular costume, I would take time to hand craft and carve a wand that looked more appropriate to his own.
I think it's important to note here that the scarf was made by a talented, and lovely friend of mine who I miss dearly, and in that case I should advertise her amazing work. It was given to myself and my wife as presents for our Harry and Draco costumes. The Gryfindor scarf was made by ~unsungheroes and she sells them for 45$ a scarf. If you are interested please be sure to note her! She is a wonderful person and deserves more for her talented amazing efforts. I can promise you that.
James Potter is: Sirius Black is: Photo by: Editing by: (I would like to make a particular cliffnote, there really was not much to edit other than contrasting colors on a whole, I am not any more slender than I usually appear, and my face is not any different than the actual photo <3)
